BASQUE COUNTRY MUSEUM
This is the best place to learn about Basque history and culture.
It’s located in the baroque Alegría palace from 1733, which is one of the few buildings that survived the bombing of Gernika.
On the four floors, you’ll get the chance to discover very diverse areas like geography, the Basque language, sport, music, and Basque customs and mythology.
In addition to its own heritage value, the palace has a gorgeous attic that hosts temporary exhibitions and it’s surrounded by beautiful gardens, one in a Romantic French style and the other English.
