BERMEO

Coming to Bermeo is to enjoy, in every way, a real fishing village.

Among the narrow streets of its historic quarter, one of the oldest in the Basque Country, you can discover what this medieval town, which was the main city of Biscay for several centuries, was really like.

One of its main attractions is the charming old port, with the colourful, old fisherman’s houses overhanging it. Today, it’s a perfect place to get together, have a seat on the terrace and enjoy the food.

Strolling the streets Bermeo, you can also discover the splendid cultural and artistic heritage dotted with sculptures, monuments, murals, museums, and notable civil and religious buildings.

Visiting Bermeo is always a good choice, but the following dates should be written down - 24 June, the day of San Juan, 2 July, day of the Madalena - two of its biggest days that both have great atmosphere.Visitar Bermeo siempre es un buen plan pero merece la pena apuntar las siguientes fechas: el 24 de junio, día de San Juan, y el 22 de julio, día de la Madalena, dos de sus días grandes y con un ambiente impresionante.

Izaro island, Matxitxako cape, the Atalaya and, of course San Juan de Gaztegulatxe, are other TOP places in this seaside town.
