San Miguel de Ereñozar

Situated at a height of 1,463 ft and with magnificent views of Mundaka ria, Ea, Ibarrangelu and the Cantabrian Sea, you can also play at guessing where Mount Gorbea and Durango Valley is. This natural viewpoint culminates in the San Miguel de Ereñozar Hermitage. According to the chronicles of Alfonso XI, this place was home to an old fortress where some Basques who opposed the entry of the Monarch into the territory in 1336 took shelter. Read more

San Miguel Church

It is built with marble variegated from its quarries and its style is the result of different changes, on a Gothic Renaissance base. We can still see Gothic remains in one of its side walls.
